To make true progress in global health, we firmly believe, requires collaboration and a lot of coordination. The ASCENT (Adherence Support Coalition to End TB) project is an excellent example of that. Funded by Unitaid, the consortium brings together organizations like KNCV, Aurum Institute, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and PATH, along with technology companies like Everwell, Wisepill, and Sure Adhere to “transition to scale” promising, patient-centric digital adherence technologies to improve existing TB patient management practices. The project, which builds on early work funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Stop TB Partnership’s TB Reach Wave 6 grants, is a great example of how fast we can move when global partners align around a shared strategy and bring their respective strengths, expertise, and resources to bear. We at The Arcady Group have been honored to have been involved with all these parties and in all of these programs from 2014.
